"It's not one man's job. It's not one person's job. But it is something we have to do, so that the story of the hunt will always reflect the agony, the trevail - the bravery, even, of the lions" -- Chinua Achebe

Add Lion's Historian courses to any curriculum or join us for our Saturday Class sessions.  The courses will fill in the gaps of conventional history lessons to include the contributions of people and events to provide a well-rounded understanding of American, specifically Louisiana, culture, the lion's share of our history.   Students are introduced to people, places, and events that are largely excluded from classroom instruction.  The single narrative history has handicapped us all by failing to tell the full story by erasing the presence, hard work, contributions, and sacrifices of ALL Americans. Lion's History Academy courses aim is to complete the narrative from the perspective of the lion, because half the story has never been told.

Courses include topics such as:

The Creation of "Race" (Eugenics)

The Census and Race Reclassification

The Doctrine of Discovery established a spiritual, political, and legal justification for colonization and seizure of land not inhabited by Christians. The Papal Bull "Inter Caetera," issued by Pope Alexander VI on May 4, 1493, played a central role in the Spanish conquest of the New World and beyond.
