The Lion's Share
A lair is a sanctuary, a place of refuge, a sacred place. The Lion's Lair is a space to retreat and explore the Lion's Share of history.
The Lion's Share is an idiomatic expression meaning the largest part of something, as in the "lion's share of the work". This Lion's Share is a repository of the parts of history that have gone largely unknown, ignored, untold, and forgotten. It is a space filled with videos, links, articles, and books told from the perspective of the lion to offer alternative narratives on diverse topics. It is an archive of material that I found interesting in my quest for more balanced perspectives related to history and culture.
Add Lion's Historian courses to any curriculum or join us for our Saturday Class sessions. The courses will fill in the gaps of conventional history lessons to include the contributions of all people as it relates to history, providing a well-rounded understanding of American, specifically Louisiana, culture - the lion's share of our history. Students are introduced to people, places, and events that are largely excluded from classroom instruction. The single narrative history has handicapped us all by failing to tell the full story and erasing the presence, hard work, contributions, and sacrifices of ALL Americans. Lion's History Academy courses aim is to complete the narrative from the perspective of the lion, because half the story has never been told.
